I still don't
have a kitchen of my own to design quite yet but dreaming and planning ahead of
time can never hurt. In the meantime, I do so by gathering as many of pieces of
inspiration as I can in a folder on my computer, on my pinterest kitchens board
and in an actual binder where I keep inspirational magazine tearouts. You never
know when something beautiful will pop up and catch your eye so you gotta be
prepared right? ;) When I finally do get my dream kitchen (hopefully some day
soon) I will take some key elements from each one and incorporate them to
make that one beautiful kitchen of my own. The kitchen is the room I spend most
of my time in between cooking and cleaning and all else so I want it to be the
one that is the done most perfectly to suit me. I want it to be both pretty and
functional at the same time if you know what I mean.
Now for the
details I am crazy for from this months kitchen (from
pinterest- linked back to bhg.com) . The detail that stands out most to me
is the massive furniture-style island cloaked in a soft robin's-egg blue shade
which is what makes this kitchen unique and impressive! I really like the crisp
white cabinets and gleaming chrome pendant lights which really pop against the
blue island, providing a light atmosphere. Brown and blue work so well together
in many aspects and this is no exception- the brown stools stand out
beautifully against the blue island. That shelf above the oven with some of the
main cooking essentials makes a great addition as it's super handy and the
springy blue cafe curtains on the window above the sink really add polish to
this room and complete the look.
What do you
think of this kitchen? Can you imagine yourself cooking in it, cutting up
vegetables on that very large workspace, looking out the window as you enjoy a
snack on those perfect brown stools? I definitely can!
Leave me a
comment below letting me know what your favorite detail is in this months
kitchen- I love to hear from you!
