Makeup Product Review: NYX Mega Shine "Beige" Lip Gloss with Swatch!

Nyx Mega Shine Lip Gloss LG129 "Beige"

Product Description:

These NYX Mega Shine Glosses ($5.50) are described by NYX as: "Deliver Shine, Moisture, Softness and Envelops Lips with Glistening Color. The finish is creamy and a blend of mineral and lanolin oil help protect the pout"

The mega shine gloss line are my favorite of all of the NYX glosses. There are about 64 shades available in all different ranges of color. I recently mentioned this specific shade "Beige" in my summer favorites post. There are a few things that set this gloss apart from others and that have really grabbed my attention and just a couple of things that I don't quite love as much.

What I Love:

- This specific item is pretty opaque and highly pigmented with a glossy finish void of any sparkle or frost and is easily build-able to get desired amount of color.

- It is super creamy, smooth and thick in consistency so not a very sticky formulation and It doesn't separate or settle into fine lines and corners of my mouth. At the same it time lasts longer then any of my other glosses which is pretty impressive.

-This specific shade "beige" is a beautiful creamy bubble gum pink color and I feel like it would go along well with most skin tones.

-It comes with the typical doe-foot applicator which is perfectly shaped to easily brush over the lips and control how much product is applied.

What I Don't Love:

- The name of this gloss is extremely bizarre. This gloss is clearly a bright shade of pink and they named it "beige." That's a little misleading and can cause some difficulty when shopping online.

-It  has a strong scent of cherry cough syrup when it is being applied- some may like that but to me it is just utterly disgusting. I really dislike the smell of cherry and even more cough syrup. That scent wears off immediately after application so it's not a major problem for me.

-I've heard it said that this product can be a bit streaky. This is true at the start of application but I personally find that I can simply smooth it out and it doesn't streak again.

- The opening where the cap screws on is a little narrow so product does tend to get all over that area when the wand is pulled out, making it a little messy and wastely of some product.

Overall:

I hope that NYX will consider removing that cherry scent from these glosses as it is truly bothersome to me and I'm sure to others. Besides for that, no major issues with this gloss so I don't see why I wouldn't continue to purchase them. The price is truly unbeatable and their products are often featured on hautelook with even better deals so look out for that if you want to try them out.
